We wanted to take a minute to thank each and every umpire who attended Saturday’s clinic to make it a huge success! We had well over 100 umpires in attendance, many of whom were brand new and looking to get started this season. Whether you are a crew chief, a veteran or a rookie umpire, we can’t thank you enough for coming out and learning what NCUA is all about.
Our crew chiefs were unbelievable all day long; arriving one hour early and staying all the way through the on-field instruction that they led. We hope that younger umpires took the time to learn from them and will continue to do so throughout the next several weeks leading up to the start of the 2024 season.
The next opportunity to learn about umpiring with NCUA will be the on-field clinics in February. The first one will be held at ECAP in Goldsboro on Feb. 17 & 18 while the second one will be held at Granville Athletic Park in Oxford on Feb. 24 & 25. Attending at least one of these tournaments in full is a requirement for new umpires looking to get started this season. If you haven’t already, please let either Shorty or Cory know your availability ASAP to get signed up.
