I am approaching retirement age and still enjoy youth and sports. I would like to stay active and involved and would like to get certified and able to umpire all types of youth sports. Could you tell me how to get the info on training and certification.

I just moved to the Cary, NC, area this fall from Seattle, WA. I was an umpire for the Northwest Baseball Umpire Association (NBUA) organization from 2001-2008. I started umpiring Varsity level high school games at the beginning of the 2002 season. While I was associated with NBUA, I attended Jim Evan’s Umpire clinic in 2003 and 2004 and before that, the Oregon Baseball Umpire’s clinic in 2002. I’m interested in attending the training and getting the requirements here that I need to umpire amateur baseball in Raleigh, NC. Could you please advise on who I can coordinate with, to get that done? – Joe
